Casual Day 2017 theme announced

The goal of the 2017 campaign, which culminates in the main event on September 1, is to raise at least R30 million.

The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) revealed its 2017 Casual Day theme and goals on Wednesday last week, at a vibrant “show-and-tell” breakfast held at Carnival City.

The goal of the 2017 campaign, which culminates in the main event on September 1, is to raise at least R30 million.

Expanding on this year’s theme, Celebrate diversity with persons with disabilities, NCPD chairperson Mac Mia said all persons were united in their diversity.

“The preamble of South Africa’s constitution states that we are united in our diversity. Let us make this true and let’s unite in an effort to put a record number of stickers and golf shirts out there, so that we can get the largest number of people ever to celebrate with us,” said Mia.

Mia added that Casual Day raised R28.6 million in 2016.

“Diversity is our theme this year; we look forward to a campaign that will be more successful than any other before.”
