Weekend crime round-up

A 27-year-old man was stabbed and killed.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Two cars were stolen.

A white Volkswagen Polo was stolen from Porter Avenue, and a green Nissan 1400 was stolen from Voortrekker Road.

* Tools were stolen from an address along Blyde Avenue, in Leachville.

A locked garage on the property was broken into.

* A 45-year-old local business owner was shot and killed, in Dalpark.

• Saturday – A white Hyundai H100 parked at an address along Venter Street, in Dalview, was stolen.

* A home in Torchwood Street, Dalpark Extension Six, was broken into.

A fridge, chest freezer, microwave, washing machine, pots, a television set, laptop, tablet and a DVD player were stolen.

* Two cellphones were stolen from a home along Boundary Road.

* A man was robbed of his cellphone at the corner of Voortrekker Road and Prince George Avenue.

A thief grabbed the phone from the victim’s hand and ran off.

The incident took place at about 9am.

• Sunday – A home along Scott Street, in Brenthurst, was burgled of three cellphones.

* A red BMW motorbike was stolen from an address along Hosking Street, in Brenthurst.

* A 27-year-old man was stabbed and killed at the corner of Northdene Avenue and Goods Road.

Police were alerted to the crime at around 11.45am.

Witnesses told police the victim was stabbed during a physical altercation with two men.

One of the men was arrested on the scene, while the other was later arrested in Tembisa.

The victim has been identified.

Other

• Thursday – A blue and white Volkswagen Microbus was stolen from Clarendon Street, in Brenthurst.

* A lawnmower and other gardening equipment and tools were stolen from an address in Middle Road, Sonneveld Estates.

* Three motorbikes were stolen from Zeeman Street, in Brenthurst.
