Break-ins:

• Coert Steynberg Street, in Van Eck Park (business).

Stolen: Computer servers, laptops, computer monitors, a kettle, iPod, television set and foreign currency valued at R6 000.

• Ernest Street, in Kenleaf.

Stolen: Television set, tablet and jewellery.

* A woman was robbed of her handbag along Heidelberg Road, at about 2pm, on Saturday.

The victim was talking to two other women she had just met, when one of them suddenly snatched the bag from her.

The bag contained bank cards, an ID card, cellphone and personal documents.

It was later discovered that R5 000 had been withdrawn from the victim’s bank account.

* Tyres were stolen from a truck parked at the corner of Rademan Street and Vlakfontein Road, in Withok Estates, yesterday (Monday).

* Two quadbikes and a trailer were stolen from an address along Tweedy Road, in Brenthurst.

The complainant told police he heard dogs barking during the night and got up to investigate.

He switched the outside lights on, but did not venture outdoors.

The theft was discovered at about 6.30am yesterday morning.

The quadbikes are both blue Yamahas.

Two cases of rape were reported.

* A woman was raped at a local hotel on Sunday, at about 11pm.

The woman, who knows her attacker, agreed to go out for drinks with the man.

When they arrived at the hotel, the man paid for a room, telling the woman they needed privacy.

The victim told police she made it clear to the man that she would join him in the room, but there was to be no physical contact.

The man later forced himself on the woman and raped her.

* A woman was raped in an open veld near Ergo Road, in Withok Estates, yesterday.

The victim, who is unfamiliar with the area, was waiting for a taxi at about 7.33pm, when she saw the man.

She asked him if she was standing in the right area to catch a taxi, and he told her to follow him to the right place.

While walking through the veld, the man began touching the woman and then pushed her to the ground.

He attempted to strangle her and then raped her.

The woman sought help from residents at the Mkhankwa Village informal settlement and the police were called.
