Two car trailers were stolen in separate incidents in Brakpan North on Thursday evening, last week.
The thefts took place at addresses along McKenzie Street and McCullum Avenue.
According to information received from Brakpan police, the theft at the McKenzie Street property was discovered by the trailer’s owner at about 4.30am as he was preparing to leave for work.
The trailer (make and colour not provided) was parked at the side of the house and fishing equipment valued at R30 000 was also stolen.
Upon reporting the theft, the McCullum Avenue resident told police he had seen four men in the veld near his house prior to the incident.
The resident stated he had heard a noise outside at about 9.45pm, and upon investigation, saw the men pushing a wheelbarrow.
He then went to bed.
When he got up the following morning, he noticed his front gate was open and his white Venter trailer was gone.
