The Department of Energy released a statement on Thursday regarding the adjustment of fuel prices, which will be effective from tomorrow (Wednesday).
The fuel prices will be increased as follows:
• Petrol (93 ULP and LRP): 50 cents per litre;
• Petrol (95 ULP and LRP): 48 cents per litre;
• Diesel (0.05 per cent Sulphur): 39 cents per litre;
• Diesel (0.005 per cent Sulphur): 37 cents per litre;
• Wholesale price of Illuminating Paraffin: 43 cents per litre;
• SMNRP of Illuminating Paraffin: 58 cents per litre; and
• Maximum Retail Price of LP Gas: R1,06 per kilogramme.
According to the statement, the main reasons for the fuel price increases are currency fluctuations and the increase in the price of crude oil and international fuel prices.
