Weekend crime round-up

Guards were robbed of their belongings and locked inside a truck.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A man was robbed of his laptop along Voortrekker Road.

The man, who works at a business along this street, was walking to his car when two men grabbed his bag containing the laptop.

The robbery took place at about 7.30am.

Two cars were broken into.

A handbag was stolen from a car parked at the corner of High Street and Voortrekker Road, and a keyboard was stolen from a vehicle parked at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Porter Street.

A home along Civin Road, in Sonneveld, was burgled of a television set, DVD player, handbag and cellphone.

• Saturday – Truck batteries were stolen from a company along Witpoortjie Road, in Maryvlei.

Two robbers, one of whom was armed, held up two security guards on duty at the business at about 12.30am.

The guards were robbed of their belongings and locked inside a truck.

The robbers also stole a black Volkswagen Golf parked on the premises.

Two cellphones and a laptop were stolen during a break-in at a home along Essex Street, in Dalview.

A man was robbed of his cellphone and cash by two men.

The victim was walking along Queen Avenue at about 2pm, when the pair confronted him.

Electric tools, a computer and other goods were stolen from a business in Siding Street, Vulcania.

• Sunday – A business along Voortrekker Road was burgled.

One suspect was arrested on the scene with a stolen crate of glasses.

A car parked at the Brakpan Airfield was broken into.

A kitbag containing a laptop, cellphone, digital camera, a pair of sunglasses, a wallet and items of clothing was stolen from the vehicle.

A Honda CBR 1100XX Super Blackbird was stolen from an address along Queen Avenue.
