Help needed to irrigate pitches

The water restrictions enforced recently are affecting all across the Ekurhuleni Metro, including sports clubs.

United Cricket Club is feeling the heat and needs assistance to save their three pitches for the season.

Des Gamble, facilities manager, said: “We need assistance from anyone with a water truck who would be prepared to help us draw water from the nearby dam and deposit it into a storage tank at Hosking Park.

“We are in desperate need of water to irrigate our pitches, otherwise we could lose them for the season.”
