Raising funds for five-year-old’s operation

“Our goal is to be able to pay for the eye operation and enable this little girl to have a chance of normal sight.”

Valhalla MC, a bike club based in Springs, received a cheque worth R12 970 from members of the Just Wheels Vehicle and Engine Club.

The female members of the Just Wheels club raised the much needed funds during a Women’s Day event hosted by them.

The donation will be used towards helping a five-year-old girl, currently in the care of Potters Haven, in Springs, to receive an important eye operation.

“Our goal is to be able to pay for the eye operation and enable this little girl to have a chance of normal sight,” said Gary Collins, president of Valhalla MC.

The first operation to take place, which is called a Strabismus procedure, will cost approximately R40 000. Collins encouraged residents to help to raise the much needed funds. He added that a fund-raiser will be held on October 21, at The Deck in Springs, hosting Ghapi and Clint.
