New task team commence policing duties

SAPS not saying much, but gave assurance to the community.

Few details have been revealed about a new task team established within the Brakpan SAPS.

It was reported in last week’s edition in an article titled ‘Former task team members return to work‘ that a new team has been put together.

This followed the disbanding of the Brakpan Anti-Hijacking Task Team.

It’s members were subsequently suspended, but have since been reinstated.

The Herald requested further information about the new team and received the following response from station commander Brig Johannes Manyathela:

“The community can rest assured that a task team does exist and the members are performing duties in the Brakpan policing area attending to all serious crime scenes, as well as crime prevention.”
