New developments in Anti-Hijacking Task Team saga

Members were cleared of all charges against them.

New developments involving the members of the former Brakpan Anti-Hijacking Task Team have come to the attention of the Herald.

It is alleged that the members were cleared of all charges against them and found not guilty during an internal disciplinary hearing today (Thursday).

It is rumoured that several accusations of misconduct were levelled against the members.

The team was disbanded almost three months ago, on May 26, and the members were suspended.

The Herald is in the process of obtaining official comment from Brakpan police.

UPDATE AT 2.33PM: Col Evelyn Smith from the Brakpan Police Station confirmed that the members were found not guilty.

The future of the team is not known at this stage.
