WATCH: Starving boerboel is on the mend
Oslo's health is improving.
Oslo, the boerboel, is making strides, albeit wobbly ones, on the road to recovery.
A starving and injured Oslo was recently rescued by inspectors from the Brakpan SPCA from a property in Brakpan.
He had been abandoned at the residence and was found in a severely malnourished state, weighing only 47kg.

Oslo also had an infected wound on his left hind leg, which required treatment with antibiotics.
A visit to the vet last week, however, revealed that his health is improving.
The SPCA was also given the green light to take Oslo for hydrotherapy for his hind legs.
In addition, he has started on a diet of raw feed and boiled eggs to help him gain weight.
The Herald met the affectionate Oslo on Monday morning as he enjoyed some time in the exercise paddock on the SPCA’s premises.
While it is obvious he still needs to bulk up considerably – adult male boerboels usually weigh between 70kg and 90kg — his appearance has improved tremendously.
He is not very steady on his legs, and understandably so, but is only too happy to make his way over for some much-deserved attention, and especially enjoyed a rub on the head and a scratch behind the ears.
The SPCA reports that there has been considerable interest from people wanting to adopt this special dog.
The society is appealing to residents to assist with monetary donations for hydrotherapy sessions for Oslo.
Each session costs R380 and Oslo will require between six to eight sessions.
