Ambassadors to boost water preservation efforts

The programme involves the placement of 100 ambassadors in various communities.

The City of Ekurhuleni is serious about preserving nature’s most precious resource, water, and launched its Water and Sanitation Community Ambassadors programme at the Boksburg City Hall, on Tuesday.

The programme involves the placement of 100 ambassadors in various communities across Ekurhuleni that have been identified as high water consumption areas.

The ambassadors will be responsible for collecting data and evaluating water meter conditions, leakages and other factors that contribute to water loss.

The data collected will be captured on the municipal database for further intervention.

They will also conduct door-to-door visits to create awareness of the importance of preserving water, because “Every Drop Counts”.
