State-of-the-art school opens in Ekurhuleni

The facility will also be recorded in history as the school that will usher-in digital migration and E-learning in township schools.

Ekurhuleni mayor Clr Mondli Gungubele joined the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga, Gauteng Premier David Makhura, Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi and MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza in officially opening the new state-of-the-art Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School 2B in Daveyton, on Wednesday.

The R92.9-million facility was built to alleviate overcrowding at Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School No1 and accommodate learners from the nearby farm school, Bapsfontein Primary School.

Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School 2B is the first prototype school to be built in line with the use of green technology, with specific emphasis on energy efficiency.

The facility will also be recorded in history as the school that will usher-in digital migration and E-learning in township schools across Gauteng.

The school boats 33 smart classrooms, consisting of Grade R, foundation and intermediate and senior phase.
