Attempted theft at Van Eck Substation

A circuit breaker was tampered with.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

Friday

Mag wheels were stolen from a car parked at an address along Verster Street in Minnebron.

The Van Eck Substation in Withok Estates was broken into.

While nothing was stolen, a circuit breaker was tampered with.

A blue Volkswagen Citi Golf was stolen from Burns Road in Dalpark.

Two residential burglaries were reported.

These took place at addresses along Wordsworth Street, in Dalpark, and Athlone Avenue, in Dalview.

A television set, clothing, bedding and shoes were stolen.

Saturday

A woman (36), her daughter (18) and her daughter’s friend (20) were travelling along Voortrekker Road at 3.30am, after an evening out, when they noticed they were being followed.

The woman decided to drive to a friend’s house along Kitzinger Street.

When she stopped at the address, a silver Mazda pulled up behind her and four men, armed with guns, alighted the vehicle.

A car parked at an address along Lapping Street in Brenthurst, was robbed of its mags and wheels.

A blue Ssangyong bakkie was stolen from the corner of Prince George and Hoy avenues.

Sunday

Four burglaries were reported.

These took place at homes along Ellis Street, Brakpan North, Elizabeth Eybers Street, Dalpark, Cardigan Street, Dalview, and Wenden Avenue.

Stolen goods include a bicycle, a cellphone, a laptop, television sets and jewellery.
