BREAKING NEWS: Jasmin-Lee’s uncle pleads guilty to rape and murder

The uncle of Jasmin-Lee, Sarel du Toit (25), who is accused of raping and killing the little girl, has pleaded guilty in the High Court, in Pretoria, today (Monday).

Du Toit’s trial started this morning in the Pretoria High Court, after Jasmin-Lee was raped and murdered on December 28, 2013.

Jasmin-Lee who lived with her mother, Sasha-Lee Bam, in Kempton Park, was visiting her father, Morné Pretorius, in Brakpan, when the uncle raped and suffocated her.

Du Toit was one of the people who helped the police and community to search for her after she was reported missing.

She was later found under a bed in her father’s flat.

Pre-sentencing proceedings will now follow.
