Announced by the mayor of Ekurhuleni, Clr Mondli Gungubele, during his 2015 State of the City address, the programme is aimed at maximizing local content and participation, particularly by women, the youth and people living with disabilities.
This is to be achieved through the creation of sustainable jobs, skills development, and the promotion of industrialisation.
Organisations are, therefore, invited to submit proposals for financial support under the following high level priority areas:
- Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture and Social Cohesion.
- Local Economic Development and Sustainable Job Creation and Social Development.

The closing date for submitting proposals is on Friday, October 9.
Proposals must be submitted to the Grants-in-Aid Support Office, Foyer, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Head Office Building, Corner Cross and Roses streets, Germiston.
Proposals will be adjudicated and the approved Grants-in-Aid will be awarded early next year.
