Ride for the SPCA

All bikers, bike clubs, fanatics and families are invited to participate in the Animal Run 2015, on Sunday, August 30, at the Boksburg Cardinals Baseball Club, next to the Boksburg City Stadium.

The event is in aid of all the SPCA branches on the East Rand and the aim is to collect as much pet food, pet blankets and donations as possible to support this worthwhile cause.

“The event has grown in support over the last three years, as a result of the biking community’s compassion and willingness to make a difference in the lives of animals in need,” said organiser Chris Badenhorst.

The mass ride for motorcycles to the end venue will start at 9am, from Checkers-Hyper Edenvale.

“From there the planned mass ride will be marshaled by the Road Rangers and the Ekurhuleni Metro Police, to Cardinals Baseball Club, in Boksburg.

All road-legal bikes are welcome, from the slowest scooter to the fastest speed bikes.

“The vision surrounding the hosting of the Animal Run is to create an annual event that will raise awareness of the SPCA and the plight of animals,” said Badenhorst.

All proceeds and donations will be put to very good use and the East Rand community is urged to show their support and to lend a helping hand while enjoying themselves.

A small fee will get you into the grounds at Boksburg Cardinals Baseball Club, where supporters will be able to enjoy a beer tent, food stalls, music, a flea market and much more.

Although this day is all about the animals, it’s not a day for the animals, and it has been requested that animals not be brought to the end venue.

“We hope you will join us for a fun-filled day in aid of the SPCA,” added Badenhorst.
