Gauteng Motor Fest roars back to The Rock

Excitement is mounting and plans are well on track for another stellar Gauteng Motor Fest (GMF), taking place this weekend.

Ekurhuleni, as the official host city, is thrilled to welcome back the motor fest, which will take over The Rock Raceway this weekend (July 24 – 26).

The popular annual auto-tainment show is the 12th of its kind and this is the second year it is being hosted at The Rock Raceway.

“The Gauteng Motor Fest is a great initiative to position Ekurhuleni as the best sport tourism destination within the Gauteng region,” said the mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele.

Sugen Pillay, commercial director of Thebe Reed Exhibitions, who are organising the event, echoed his statement and said that they are proud to be associated with Ekurhuleni for the second year, as host city partner of the festival.

“We believe this partnership positions Ekurhuleni as a destination capable of hosting major events and this year’s event promises to be even more exciting, with activities catering for the whole family,” said Pillay.

The track action for the coming weekend includes: SupaDrift Series Round 5, Freestyle MotoX Stunts, GoKart Demo Races, XDL Bike Stunts, Legends Car Stunts, NSF100 Honda Racing and Drag Racing, along with automotive exhibitors and a host of kiddies’ activities.

The track programme can be viewed on Gauteng Motor Fest.

The Gauteng Motor Fest is supported by Carnival City, Ignition TV and the Gauteng Tourism Authority.
