Two youngsters arrested for stealing cameras
Two suspects, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, were recently arrested for stealing CCTV cameras in the Brakpan CBD.
During further investigation it was found that the 18-year-old suspect was out on bail on a similar case, but failed to appear in court and a warrant of arrest was issued.
“The Brakpan Police are busy retrieving all the cameras which were stolen and sold to different people,” said Capt Joep Joubert, spokesperson for the Brakpan Police Station commander.
“We encourage the public to make sure where goods come from, before they buy them from a suspicious person.
“If somebody sells goods at a very low price, chances are high that they are stolen property.”
The suspects will appear in the Brakpan Magistrates Court soon, on several charges of theft.
Brakpan Police are still investigating the matter.
