Everybody goes green for Cerebral Palsy on Wednesday (March 25).

Wear something green on Wednesday, March 25, for Cerebral Palsy (CP) Awareness Day.

Hanlie Zietsman, a teacher at Felicitas School, said that the school has already gone green this month by covering some of the trees in green cloth and, every Wednesday, the teachers wear green to school.

“I want the community to know what the green stands for,” said Zietsman.

”Everywhere in the world March is CP Awareness Month and, on March 25, it is CP Awareness Day.”

“Or, as we like to call it: Cute People.”

CP affects the brain and, depending on which area of the brain it has affected, it can range from a mild weakness to a severe weakness in the body, which can cause activity limitation.

A person diagnosed with CP may not be able to do daily tasks without help and may have some trouble communicating and learning.

The disorder is not curable, but therapies can improve function over time.
