Entries for the Ekurhuleni Kiddies games 2015 now open

The City of Ekurhuleni in partnership with the Gauteng Sports and Recreation Department is calling upon all pre-schools around Ekurhuleni to register for the 2015 Ekurhuleni Kiddies Games.

“The kiddies’ games enable us to inculcate the love of sports, healthy living and prepare the children for a brighter future in sports as well as to build their confidence in competitions,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Themba Gadebe.

“The games are vital for the wellness of the toddlers during the early developmental stages,” added Gadebe.

Each pre-school is required to register a team of 10 participants consisting of five boys and five girls who are between the ages of five and six years old.

Registration to the competition is compulsory and paves the way for young champions to participate in the first level of the sporting event locally in March. The successful participants will then proceed to the regional level.

The registration cut-off date is on February 27.

The sporting activities will include ball throwing, ball hopping, ball kicking, ball dribbling, ring throwing as well as cycling.
