Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (November 14, 15 and 16):

Friday

Four break-ins were reported.

These took place at addresses along Johan Street, Sunair Park, Stoffberg Avenue, Sheridan Street, Dalpark, and Gerrit Maritz Avenue, Dalview.

Jewellery, television sets, laptops and cellphones were stolen.

Saturday

An attempted burglary was reported at a home along Mulberry Avenue, Leachville.

The male homeowner interrupted two burglars in his house, when he arrived home at about 8pm.

As he pulled his car into the driveway, the homeowner noticed the front door of the house was open.

As he approached the front door, two men ran out of the house and jumped over the wall.

The would-be burglars made their getaway in a dark blue Chevrolet, the model of which is unknown, and nothing was stolen.

A man and his son were robbed at knife point by two men, in Brenthurst.

The pair were confronted by the robbers just after 9pm, as they arrived at an address at the corner of Van Zyl and Joubert Streets,

The robbers fled with the man’s cellphone, wallet and house and car keys.

Burglars stole 32 pairs of shoes, a television set, a DVD player, a laptop, a cellphone and a wallet from a home along Tiller Road, Dalpark.

Sunday

Sound equipment was stolen from the NG Kerk, Dalview, on the corner of Acton and Willey streets.

A window was forced open to gain entry.

An attempted burglary was reported at a home along Sunair Street, Suniar Park.

A man and his wife returned home at about 3pm, to find the back door had been forced open.

An inside security gate had also been damaged, but nothing was stolen.

A home along Elton Street, Minnebron, was broken into, and two television sets were stolen.
