Woman killed in crash
A traffic accident near Carnival City, this afternoon, has claimed a woman's life.
Three other people were injured in the crash, including the woman’s adult daughter.
The accident took place at about 1pm, at the Heidelberg Road (R23) and Elsburg Road (R554) intersection.
According to an emergency services worker, who may not be named, two vehicles were involved in the accident — a light motor vehicle and a security vehicle.
The daughter was taken to the Netcare Sunward Park Hospital, and the two occupants of the security vehicle were taken to the Netcare N17 Hospital.
The severity of their injuries, as well as the cause of the accident, is not known.

Traffic has been affected and motorists are urged to avoid the intersection.
unfortunately i was waiting at the robot when this accident happened. All my sympathy goes to the family of the lady who was killed. It was a terrible sight to have witnessed.
The woman who died was my aunty my cousine in hospital in icu. The accident was cause by the security bakkie. The shipped the robot. This has been a terrible day for my family..

Security vehicles are uselly armed plated and heavy like trucks. And can not stop dead instantly due to the heaviness of the load. Most drives does not realise this and that is the cause of some accidents because light vehicles sometimes think they can take a chance as they can get by fast.

The vehicle involved was a double cab and not a heavy security van
