Kenleaf teen is a finalist

Kenleaf teenager Mmathabo Mokoena (18) is one of 24 finalists in the Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa pageant.

As a finalist, the pretty Bcom Law student is required to raise funds for the pageant’s chosen charity — the Mandela Children’s Hospital — and has started a car wash for this purpose.

The pageant aims to create a platform for women of all ages to become Charity and Culture Ambassadors within South Africa and the broader International community, as well as to empower women with the  knowledge to bring change to communities in need.

The pageant finale will be held at the Gold Reef City Lyric Theatre on August 29.

Residents can vote for Mokoena by texting her full name to 42899 (R3 per SMS).

The winner of Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa will win a trip to the UK to compete in the international pageant in November.
