Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (June 6, 7 and 8):

Friday

Two burglaries were reported.

A home in Ellis Street, Brakpan North, was robbed of a games console, television set, laptop and jewellery.

Television sets, an iPad and Dstv decoder were stolen from a home in Lanyard Street, Dalpark.

A blue Chrysler (model unknown) was stolen from Voortrekker Road.

Saturday

Three homes were burgled.

Television sets and laptops were stolen from properties along Player Street, Brakpan North, and Bakkes Street and Van der Merwe Street, in Brenthurst.

A car parked in the garage at an address along Melkhout Street, Dalpark, was broken into.

Thieves stole the car’s speakers and amplifier, as well as a vacuum cleaner and lawnmower from the garage.

A car radio was stolen from a vehicle parked along Gerrit Maritz Street, Dalview.

Sunday

A man was assaulted and robbed of his cellphone and wallet by two men.

The man was walking along Victoria Avenue, just before 6am, when he was grabbed from behind, hit and and choked.

The robbers grabbed his bag, containing his belongings, and fled.
