Help the Brakpan Red Cross

As the winter is upon us, the Brakpan Red Cross is appealing to the community for assistance in helping the underprivileged people of Brakpan.

The Red Cross regularly supplies food to families in need, through its feeding scheme.

Residents can assist by donating any non-perishable goods, such as tinned food, maize meal, pasta and coffee, as well as home-made soup, which can be frozen in 2lt containers.

With the cold months lying ahead, donations of blankets and clothing will also be greatly appreciated.

Residents can also assist the Red Cross by donating cardboard, newspapers or any other scrap paper to the organisation’s Paper Collection Project — a fundraising initiative.

Donations of food, clothing, blankets and paper can be delivered to the Red Cross, which is situated at 8 Muir Avenue (corner Gordon Road).

The Red Cross can be contacted on 011 740 0074.
