The show highlights the works of 30 emerging, mid-career and established artists who embody the diversity of the region — varying in age, gender, social background, medium and level of recognition.
“Thirty thirty challenges the artists to reach beyond the boundaries of geography, ethnicity, tradition, media or any other perceived limitations through art, as they continually expand their personal and artistic vision and horizons,” said exhibition coordinator Thabo Sekoila.
“The 30|30 Group Art Exhibition also aims to raise public awareness of Ekurhuleni-based visual artists by providing opportunities to meet them and view their work at a location within the city.”
The opening, tomorrow, will feature a unique one day pop-up crafts and design market, mural painting, music and poetry performances.
Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge and it’s open to the public, until Saturday, April 26.
The Springs Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9am to 4.30pm, and on Saturdays from 8am until noon.
