‘Thank you for being our eyes and ears’

Festive message from Brakpan police station commander Brig Johannes Manyathele: We are at that time of year, rushing to buy presents, when we realise that another year has passed us by.

It is this time of year that we can reflect back on what we have achieved and what came our way during the year.

The Brakpan police station lost three members who passed away.

They have not only left an empty space at the station, but also in our hearts.

May their souls rest in peace and we wish the Lord is with their families.

During the year there were a lot of successes achieved by this station.

The successes were made because of the dedicated team of members and the community.

A lot of arrests were made and again these were made by members with team spirit and the cooperation by the community.

We thank you for being our eyes and ears and for reporting criminal activities to us in an effort to combat crime together.

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to talk to us at the police station about crime and ways to report crime.

Let us also the read the Herald together so that we can know what is taking place around us.

This is another means of talking to each other.

To the criminals, be warned that we are launching intelligence driven operations.

We will always catch the criminals by surprise.

We are very serious about addressing drugs and no stone will be left unturned.

There will be no place in Brakpan for criminals to hide.

We wish you a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

And please, do not drink and drive, always drive safely.
