Car crashes through wall

A Brenthurst family received a rude awakening when a car crashed through their wall during the early hours of Monday morning.

The family, who live along Prince George Avenue, were awoken by a loud bang, just before 3am.

“We have lived here for five years and, while cars have crashed through some of our neighbours’ walls, we never thought anything like this would happen,” said Sarie Watson.

The car, a white Hyundai Getz, destroyed a large section of the wall and garden of the home, and came to a standstill just a metre from the swimming pool.

The car’s occupants, two men, were unharmed.

The wall has since been repaired and the two parties resolved the issue amicably, but Watson pleaded with the authorities to do something about the road, which she described as dangerous.

“There are just so many accidents, couldn’t they erect speed humps?” she asked.
