Weekend crime round-up (October 25, 26 and 27)

It was an exceptionally violent weekend in Brakpan, last week, as six common assault cases and one case of assault with the intent to inflict grievous bodily harm were reported to local police.

These included a fight amongst neighbours in Minnebron and a brawl at a tavern in Wenden Avenue.

The following other crimes were reported:

Friday

A home in Derby Avenue was burgled of a television set, electrical appliances and bedding.

A white Isuzu bakkie was stolen from Voortrekker Road and a white Volkswagen Polo was stolen from Lotus Street, Kenleaf.

Thieves stole cellphones, jewellery and a car radio from vehicles parked at addresses along Bentley Place, in Kenleaf, and Victoria Avenue.

Saturday

No incidents were reported.

Sunday

A television set and a laptop were stolen from a home in Coetzee Street, Minnebron.

Two brothers were robbed of their cellphones, cash and groceries by four men, one of whom was armed with a gun.

The men were walking home from a nearby shop at about 12.30pm when the gang confronted them in a veld near Second Road, Witpoort Estates

Truck batteries were stolen from a business in Uranium Road, Vulcania.

At 7.30pm, four males robbed a man of his cellphone at the Brakpan Train Station.
