Race heats up

The tension is building as the end of the Reynold’s Race nears, with the top teams battling to get into the top three places to stand a chance to win a trip to Mauritius.

Brakpan won the latest leg, followed by Benoni and Kempton.

Boksburg finished ninth, and is now ninth overall.

Two legs remain and the three teams with the most points on the log will continue to participate in the final race, which will take place at the Boksburg Rugby Club, on September 21.

Last week’s task lead the teams to Springs, where they had to find a white spade at the oldest house in Springs, the De Oude Huiz Tea Garden & Gift Shop.

Afterwards they had to visit the Tibbott Memorial, which commemorates the death of Robin Tibbott (7), son of the Tibbott family, who died in a landslide on March 21, 1907, just behind the old house.

Extra pit stops in this leg were the well-known windmill and the old fire station.
