Idols search begins

Thousands of Idols hopefuls converged on Carnival City on Saturday to audition for the reality singing competition.

Helen Modise (left) and Charlotte Modise were among the thousands who arrived at Carnival City to audition for Idols.

The local auditions, which took place in the Big Top Arena, saw thousands of aspiring singers brave long queues.

Tyra Dikgwatlhe came from Klerksdorp to audition for Idols, and Mzwakhe Mlangeni travelled all the way from KwaZulu-Natal in the hope to be spotted by the judges.

Britney Meistre, from Meyersdal, was supported by her mom, Sonya.

Seen here (from left) are: Tumi Mabena and Duduzile Zawne, who came all the way from Mpumalanga, as well as Xolani Mdbanga, from Wattville, and Tshidiso Wageng from Potchefstroom.
