Fitness fanatics can join the aerobics marathon every Saturday

Sweat dripping, hearts throbbing, bodies twisting and turning - this was the order of the day on Saturday morning, last week, at the Katlehong Stadium, during the Ekurhuleni Aerobics Marathon.

Over 100 fitness fanatics from around Katlehong came out for a three-hour continuous aerobics session, all in the name of fitness.

A first of its kind to be hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni, the marathon kicked off on a high note at the beginning of this year, in the eastern parts of the city.

“We call upon all Ekurhuleni citizens to join in the fun of keeping fit and maintaining healthy lifestyles with the free and professional aerobics marathon sessions, offered every Saturday morning, in their nearby community parks,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

The professional instructors brought their A-game and their high impact moves to stretch the participants.

The activities of the day began with warming up and stretching, followed by Kata-Box and Zumba, and concluded with an intense Boot-Camp session.

“The Ekurhuleni Aerobics Marathon is not meant only for physical fitness, but is also a mechanism to enhance social cohesion in our communities,” added Gadebe.

Those who are interested in joining the aerobics movement in Brakpan may contact Tumelo Selopyane on 011 999 8209 for contact details of the nearest club.
