Tough first round at SA Open for local pro

Local professional has a tough time at the SA Open.

Golf director and club professional at the Royal Oak Country Club Kenneth Dube did not have the best of days on the fairways and greens of Glendower Golf Club during the first round of the South African Open, hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni, on Thursday, January 8.

Dube carded a seven-over par 79 (+7) that has all but put him among those projected to not make the cut on Friday, January 9.

The local professional told The Herald after his round that it was not a good day out there.

He will have to put on an incredible display if he is to turn around his misfortunes when he tees-off at 11.40am today.
