Robbers attack man with panga and screwdriver

A 30-year-old man was seriously injured on Friday afternoon, last week, when he was attacked in his home by two robbers, wielding a panga and a screwdriver.

The man’s wife (age unknown) alerted police to the incident after she managed to flee from the scene.

According to police reports, the robbers entered the Station Road property at about 2pm and demanded cash.

The thugs allegedly stabbed the man repeatedly and fled with R7 000.

When police arrived, they found him bleeding from a wound to his head.

He allegedly told officers that he knew the men and that they had robbed him two weeks earlier, in Actonville, Benoni.

The man owns a shop in Wattville.

The man was taken to the Far East Rand Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Brakpan police are investigating cases of house robbery and attempted murder.

At the time of going to print, the man’s condition was not known.
