Klipkoppiefees – Main tent activities

This year’s programme promises to be the most exiting yet.

ALBERTON – With less than a month to go to the Klipkoppie festival the excitement is building up nicely.

The project has become so big that the preparation regarding the pitching of tents and marking out of all the stalls and display areas starts during the week of May 19. Needless to say, the actual preparation of the terrain started some time ago, as far back as March.

All this is needed to ensure that the terrain is in tip top condition and everything will be in place come Friday 30 May.

We kick off the main tent programme on Friday afternoon 30 May around 18:00, when the renowned Cantare children’s choir takes the stage. They will be followed by local artist and well known radio personality Riaan Grobler. Riaan is also the MC for the weekend.

The exiting and beautiful Chrizaan will take the stage at around 19:15 and promises to be the perfect opening act for the incredible Snotkop, who will take the stage around 20:00.

On Saturday 31 May the programme in the main tent will kick off at 11:00, with a braai competition on the main stage. It will be hosted by local and renowned Borries. Participants will include local soapie stars such as Stefan Ludik, Amalia Uys, Arno Greeff and Desiré Gardner from Binnelanders.

At around 13:00 the Cantare children’s choir will once again take to the stage, followed by numerous exciting artists such as Zandre, Jaycee Crous and Albert de Wet.

Throughout the day the MC Riaan Grobler will also keep the audience entertained.

The prize-giving ceremony for the 4×4 treasure hunt will be done at 17:00 by the organiser, Francois Rossouw, from the RSG 4×4 klub. As always this is one on the highlights of the Klipkoppie festival with exciting prizes to be given away. This year the first prize will again be a set of Good Year tyres.

This will take us to the main acts for the evening: Bok van Blerk at 18:30 followed by Bobby van Jaarsveld at 20:00.

In addition, you can also visit the outdoor activities and exhibitors and the crafters market. Numerous food stalls and a watering hole will take care of the hunger and thirst.

More about this in the next issue.
