The robbers pounced when the driver stopped to make a delivery.

Cases of armed robbery and kidnapping are under investigation after a delivery driver was ambushed by robbers in Brakpan on October 11.

According to police information, the incident took place along Abercorn Avenue at around 10:30.

The driver had stopped at an address along this street to make a delivery, and exited the bakkie in which he was travelling.

Two men, armed with guns and wearing balaclavas, confronted him and forced him into the back of the bakkie.

They drove off with the victim and held him captive for some time.

After stopping in an unidentified area, the robbers took various parcels from the vehicle and then fled the scene.

While the contents of the parcels were not disclosed, the stolen goods have a combined value of around R100 000.
