Pineapple Walk to benefit San Michele Home

The funds raised will go to San Michele and an LSEN (learners with special educational needs) school in Johannesburg.

The San Michele Home is one of this year’s beneficiaries of the annual Pineapple Walk, a 5km fun walk hosted by Club 100 to raise funds for mental health services and hospice care.

The walk will be on October 27 at Casa Da Madeira in Alberton.

The registration fee is R120, and tickets are available at Ticketpro under Pineapple Walk. Registration starts at 07:30 for 08:00.

San Michele is raising funds towards a water filtration system for their borehole so the home can access potable water during outages and eventually go off-grid.

The event will have a stall with additional materials for awareness about mental health and disabilities. Some of the home’s residents will also be present and participate in the walk.

The other beneficiary is the Nokuthula Special School in Johannesburg – a school for learners with severe cognitive disabilities.
