Husband and wife tied up during house robbery

Police are searching for the two men who robbed the couple at gunpoint.

A Germains Avenue couple was robbed in their home on Monday evening. 

According to police information, the husband was accosted by two gunmen when he arrived home at around 20:10.

He parked his vehicle in the driveway and was walking back to the gate to close it when the pair threatened him with guns.

The husband was instructed to be quiet and was told he would be shot if he didn’t cooperate.

He was questioned about how many people were in the house and he answered that his wife was home.

The husband was then forced inside the residence, where he and his wife were tied up with shoelaces.

They were also covered with blankets, and the robbers started ransacking the house.

The robbers fled with a TV, three cellphones, a sound system, shoes, clothes, cash, cosmetics and jewellery.

The stolen goods were loaded into the husband’s blue Toyota Corolla, which was also taken.

The combined value of the stolen goods is estimated at more than R178 000. Brakpan police are investigating a case of house robbery.
