Weekend crime round-up

An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from July 5 to 7.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

Friday – A white Toyota Fortuner was stolen from Kitzinger Avenue.

• A truck was stolen from Elliot Street. The truck had run out of diesel and the driver left the vehicle to buy more.
When he returned to where he had parked the truck, it was no longer there.

• A large sum of cash was stolen from a delivery truck at an address along Eric Holdtman Avenue in Minnebron.
A lone thief grabbed the bag containing the money when the driver and his crew were offloading goods at a local supermarket.

• A car parked at Mall@Carnival was broken into. A handbag valued at R2 500, and its contents – valued at R1 500 – was stolen from the vehicle.

Saturday – A TV, a kettle, blankets and other household items were stolen during a break-in at an address along 2nd Street in Sallies Village.

Sunday – A white Hyundai H100 was stolen from the corner of Vootrekker Road and High Street.

• A home in Gert Bezuidenhout Street, Minnebron, was burgled of bedding, curtains, an inverter and a welding machine. Car wheels valued at R12 000 were also stolen.
