Clean Brakpan inspires a children’s book

Brakpan Broom is described as the sweetest and funniest story about Brakpan you can find.

Pastor Brian Mupaya and his daughter, Brianna, are creating children’s books, called Brianna’s Books.

Recently, Brian collaborated with the increasingly popular Clean Brakpan to create a children’s book about the project to help raise funds.

Brianna writes and illustrates the books, while Brian, a pastor for Rock Embassy Church and founder thereof, prints and binds them.

Brakpan Broom, the book made for Clean Brakpan, was launched on Saturday with a mini-documentary by Die Storie.

The book is for sale, and funds raised go towards the operational costs of Clean Brakpan and Brianna. It tells the story of the Clean Brakpan crew and their work to clean the town in a child-friendly way.

“The book speaks about cleaning Brakpan from dirty little pigs, which represent all things unclean. My daughter and I came up with the story, and we did a father-daughter cycling tour from Brakpan to Johannesburg to promote the book and raise awareness of a clean environment,” Brian told the Brakpan Herald.

“We hope to inspire Brakpan and thank the team for their great work. In a world where social media is discouraging children from reading, our personalised books (about local heroes and projects) inspire them to read again since they see themselves as the main characters of their story,” he continued.

“The book is the sweetest and funniest story you can read about Brakpan. Please support us to keep our special project going and make a talented young girl’s dreams come true,” a post on Clean Brakpan’s Facebook page reads.
