Sip ‘n Crochet blankets donated to Eventide

The monthly classes are paying off with six blankets completed and donated.

Blankets made from squares made at the monthly Sip ‘n Crochet meetings of the Springs Cro-Knitters Club were donated to Eventide Old Age Home on December 18.

Sip ‘n Crochet is a monthly meeting where Brakpan and Springs residents come together to learn how to crochet and also collect granny squares members have crocheted throughout the month to assemble into ‘friendship blankets’.

The host and instructor, Heather Bendeman, sewed together the blankets and donated them to charity. Last month, Heather took six completed blankets to Eventide to be handed out to those who need them most.

More blankets are going to be assembled to donate to the home and other organisations or people. The next meeting is at Zonskyn Tea Garden in Springs.

To take part, a fee of R150 is payable for wool and instructions. Space is limited, so hurry to book your spot with Heather on 083 580 4756.
