Weekend crime round-up

An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from October 27 to 29.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

Friday – A white Mazda Sting was stolen from the Brakpan Ekurhuleni Customer Care Centre at the corner of Escombe and Elliot streets.

• A blue Mazda Rustler was stolen from the corner of Victoria Avenue and Station Road.

• A yellow Fiat Uno was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

• A till and its contents were stolen during a break-in at a Voortrekker Road business.
Entrance to the premises was gained through the ceiling.

• Cases of burglary and attempted murder are under investigation after an incident at an address along along New Kleinfontein Road in Leachville at around 21:45.

A lone gunman was seen on the property and fired two shots at a tenant. The tenant fled to his room and locked the door.

The intruder then broke into a different room and stole several items.

No injuries were reported.

• A sound system, TVs, clothing, blankets and cash were stolen during a burglary at a home in Edward Street, Anzac.

• Safety equipment valued at R5 000 was stolen from a vehicle parked at an address along Lapping Street in Brenthurst.

Saturday – A Station Road shop was burgled of a CCTV recording system, power banks and other valuables.

• A grey Ford Ranger was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

Sunday – A gas bottle, gardening equipment and tools were stolen from a garage at a residence along Gladstone Avenue.

• A generator, a lawnmower and a weed eater were stolen from a home in Joubert Street, Brenthurst.
