Weekend crime round-up
An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from August 4 to 6.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:
Friday – A white Ford Ranger bakkie was stolen from the corner of Kitzinger Avenue and Park Street.
• Cash was stolen during a robbery at a Dalpark petrol station. Two men entered the shop on the premises at 23:18 and went to the ATM.
They then approached the counter and one of the men pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded he open the till.
His accomplice was also armed with a firearm and pointed it at the cashier’s colleague. The robbers fled with over R10 000 in cash.
Saturday – Two bicycles and a lawnmower were stolen from an address along Zeeman Street in Brenthurst.
• A car parked at an address along Witpoortjie Road in Rand Collieries was broken into and a laptop was stolen.
Sunday – A home in Hamilton Avenue was burgled of a TV, kitchen appliances, a gas bottle and children’s clothes.
• A man was robbed of his bank card at an ATM along Craigholm Street in Dalview. The incident took place at around 09:00.
A lone thief grabbed the card from the victim’s hands. The victim immediately sought to have the card blocked but R4 000 had already been withdrawn from his account.
