Minor arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm
Dalview teen found with a revolver.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Dalview last Wednesday evening after he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Law enforcers were conducting a tracing operation when they received a tip-off about the gun.
They proceeded to an address along Paul Kruger Street and found a revolver in the teen’s possession.
According to Brakpan SAPS communications officer Constable Audrey Buthelezi, the firearm was confiscated and booked in at the local police station.
She added the teen’s parents were notified.
The success was a result of collaborative efforts between the Ekurhuleni District Trio Operational Task Team, Brakpan SAPS Crime Prevention and Secure Tech Security.
