How to make alphabet paper blocks

Paper letter blocks make alphabet learning and phonics more enjoyable for children. Here's how to make paper blocks with only a few items.

Are you looking for something fun to do with your preschooler today? Why not help them make paper letter blocks? This craft is super easy to make and requires only a handful of materials you probably already have in your home.

What you need

  • A4 or Letter size cardstock
  • Crayons or coloured markers
  • Scissors
  • White glue

How to make it

  1. Search the Internet for free print cube templates to print, cut out, and assemble into three-dimensional paper cubes. For a few print cube template options, click here
  2. Cut the template pieces out.
  3. Fold the template along the inner lines.
  4. To make a cube, glue the sides together along the tabs.
  5. Set aside the cube to dry.
  6. In crayon or marker, draw letters on each of the cube’s sides.
  7. Use the blocks to help your child learn phonics and spell words.
