Support group launched for those affected by cancer
This support group in Brakpan offers various services to cancer sufferers, survivors and family members.
New Life Recovery Centre, a counselling division of Siloam Ministries in Dalpark, recently launched a cancer support group.
While education and raising awareness was the aim of the day, the event was also filled with fun and entertainment.
Those at the launch marched from the church premises to the Mall@Carnival where they shared stories of loved ones diagnosed with cancer and those lost to the disease.
Different coloured ribbons, each symbolising a different type of cancer, were distributed.
Local bikers also joined in to show their support and bring awareness to a disease that is often viewed as scary to many.
New Life has partnered with East Rand Cancer to offer the following services:
• Holistic, emotional and physical support.
• Medical assistance to patients.
• Home care assistance/support.
• Professional counselling.
• Family and interpersonal relationship bonding.
