Spurs return to winning ways

Brakpan continued to attack and were rewarded when teenager Udoka Mogoboya restored their lead in the 35th minute.

Following their defeat to Boksburg FC, Brakpan Spurs got back to their winning ways with a convincing 3-2 victory over Olympia at the Brakpan Sports Grounds on Saturday.

The locals were eager to rectify mistakes made the week before, and it showed as they opened the scoring with less than a minute on the clock, thanks to a swift move, which was completed by striker Trymore Patsanza.

Olympia, however, were not willing to just roll over that easily. They fought back and equalised in the 18th minute of what was becoming a thrilling encounter.

Spurs continued to attack against their opponents and made it 3-1 when Patsanza completed his brace just before half-time.

The second half saw the home side dominate possession as they looked comfortable for most of the period.

This, however, changed late in the half when Olympia caught them on the counter to score.

The goal made the last few minutes tricky for Spurs, but they were able to hold on and win the game 3-2.

It was a good weekend for Spurs as their u-17 side were victorious against Olympia on Sunday.

They won 4-1 with Mogoboya contributing with three assists.

Spurs’ first team will be away to Elsburg FC on Saturday, while the u-17 side faces Old Bens on Sunday.
