Local police are searching for relatives of Anton Petrus Pieterse, whose body was found in Brakpan on December 14.
The 47-year-old was found lying under a tree at the corner of Gardiner Avenue and Park Street.
No one has come forward to identify him.
Pieterse was wearing a blue T-shirt, denim shorts and white tekkies.
Family members or anyone who knew him are urged to contact Det Sgt Thobile Zulu or Det WO Mzwakhe Mthethwa on 011 744 7100.
