* The driver of a blue Ford Ranger bakkie was robbed of his vehicle by hijackers masquerading as police officers.

The incident took place along Heidelberg Road (R23), near Tsakani, at around 8.20am.

A white Hyundai with flashing lights sped up behind the victim and, thinking it was the police, he pulled over on the side of the road.

The Hyundai stopped behind him and a man alighted the vehicle and approached the victim.

The man introduced himself as a police official and asked the victim why he had been driving recklessly.

Two men then climbed into the bakkie and pulled the victim to the backseat.

He was told to lie down and be quiet.

The victim was driven around for about half an hour before he was forced into another vehicle.
